Without a Last Goodbye

Without a Last Goodbye

by Micheal J. McAnally

You left me that morning without a goodbye.

without a hug,

without a smile

or a kiss.

I didn’t hear your- I love you bye.

our standard farewell…

for now,

or a not forever…ending

Endings finish with periods

Periods – leave their marks.

Indelible

some make wounds

some

marks of anger

and marks of hurt

marks of endings

of loneliness…

fearful marks.

I’m sorry

And I love you

Speak so much louder than

being right and slamming the door.

Without a last goodbye

What can one hold until tears dry?

Be kind, share what you can and don’t forget to eat your veggies kiddos.

~Mac loves you like Grandma does.
